What Makes a Good Bonsai Tree?
What makes a good bonsai tree? Is it the thick set trunk? Perhaps the well rounded crown or the beautiful jin creations? Well I think there are a number of things that you need to consider with this. Bonsai are unique pieces of art which constantly change and grow.
Every good artist knows that a bonsai is never complete. There are times in it’s life when you want to stop it and keep it just as it is at that moment in time but it keeps on growing regardless. It was a wise man that said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Whoever that wise man was I would like to shake his hand and say “Congratulations wise man what a profoundly interesting thing to say.”
So a bonsai is good if you think it looks good. I could explain that it should have a thick trunk and a slight turn in the trunk but it would just be my opinion. If you think it looks good… It is!
I feel that a good bonsai looks like a miniature version of a fully grown tree and should look natural. But others feel that a good bonsai should be ultra twisty, like something of another world.
Sorry if I have cleared nothing up with this one!
