Hello and welcome to bonsai culture. I will be using this blog to explain how to create and maintain bonsai. The first thing I need to get off my chest is that a bonsai is a tree bound by a pot and as such it remains miniaturized. It is not a special type of plant.
Also I would like to point out that because it is a tree it should be kept outdoors! The main reason indoor trees exist is to be a money making scheme of garden centres and these are also the bonsai that like to die on you… An indoor tree is actually a tropical plant used to being in a hotter country than ours so therefore needs the extra heat. However it still needs a lot of light and moisture and most peoples homes do not have enough of either. If you do keep “indoor” bonsai then the best place is a greenhouse where you will need to constantly monitor the moistness of the soil.
hmm dont agree with your indoor bonsai thing, most houseplants are actually tropical plants not just bonsais, its not so much that they need a lot of light and moisture, its more of a case they can’t handle our harsh conditions outside such as frost
Basically what I said with the exception of frost conditions outdoors which they don’t like. Houseplants do better indoors than trees as they require less than perfect conditions and many do not mind if you forget to water them for a week or two.
