I’ve been putting off the update of this site for way too long.
Today I got hacked, I found a load of hidden porn links on the site. Well I learnt my lesson and from now on I will keep it up to date!

Car Boot Sale – Singleton Hospital, Swansea

Next Saturday (10th of May 2008) I will be setting up a stall for the day at the Singleton car boot sale as long as the weather is ok! I will be taking along some nice small bonsai to sell quite cheap.

If anyones in the area and wants to come check them out please come along and have a look.

Bonsai Boot Sale

Sunday March 16th there is going to be a bonsai boot sale at Birmingham botanical gardens in the car park. It starts at 8am and finishes about 12pm. It only happens once a year so book your place now if you want to be a part of it. More info at fobbs website It’s the perfect place to trade trees, pots and tools.

I’ve booked my place today to sell so I’ll be there early. See you there!

First tips

Hello and welcome to bonsai culture. I will be using this blog to explain how to create and maintain bonsai. The first thing I need to get off my chest is that a bonsai is a tree bound by a pot and as such it remains miniaturized. It is not a special type of plant.

Also I would like to point out that because it is a tree it should be kept outdoors! The main reason indoor trees exist is to be a money making scheme of garden centres and these are also the bonsai that like to die on you… An indoor tree is actually a tropical plant used to being in a hotter country than ours so therefore needs the extra heat. However it still needs a lot of light and moisture and most peoples homes do not have enough of either. If you do keep “indoor” bonsai then the best place is a greenhouse where you will need to constantly monitor the moistness of the soil.

New Gallery Feature Available

I’ve just finished creating a gallery for the site (04/01/08) which currently contains my bonsai which I own at present, or have previously owned.
I am very pleased with it and I’m sure it will expand into a big collection of photos very soon.

Theres also a new random picture on every page each time you refresh or visit a different page.

I’ve just noticed I’ve broken quite a few older links on the site because of my little spring cleaning this week. I’ll try to get round to sorting them this weekend

I’ve done a bit of rearranging with the site today. The main difference is that I’ve remove dates as it seems to me that bonsai are timeless and should be treated so.
Newest posts still appear first in categories and searches however.

Lack of Bonsai Holly Tree Pics

I apologise for not getting the pictures of the holly trees up yet!Â It seems I have no hours in the house during daylight hours at the moment.Â I go to work before dawn and come back at dusk.Â This time of the year is a bit depressing like that.Â But guess what… Today is Friday so that means I get the whole of two days off!

Pictures coming tommorow then, definitely.

Sold Out of Cotoneaster Seeds
