How To Thicken Up A Bonsai Tree

The Best way to get a bonsai tree to thicken up is to plant it directly into the ground in a sunny position. It will realise it has a lot more space to grow and breathe and shoot out roots and new branches with leaves on. The new leaves will give the tree the vital sugars it needs hence making the trunk thicker. This should thicken up your tree nicely.

Leave it growing in the ground for 1 or 2 years only pruning it very infrequently (once a year perhaps) and you should get the results you need.
