This years growth has all but ceased on the bonsai and we are now waiting and watching for spring. Winter is a bit of a miserable time of the year but bonsai can look extremely dramatic when they are bare without their leaves like now. It can bring on a whole new air of magnificence which you cannot see at any other time of the year.
It’s been a busy week for me in many different ways. I went on a trip to Westonbirt which was fantastic and a lot busier than I thought it would be. Everytime I go to Westonbirt I seem to forget my camera. This time I got there, spotted a good photo opportunity, got my camera out only to find there was no battery in it. So I apologize for the lack of photos from the trip!
I have added a few different types of seeds to the bonsai art store.

Actually I’ve had a bit of a growth spurt on my indoor bonsai in the last week. My ficus retusa which I just bought over a month ago has started to sprout new leaves all over the place.
Also a cutting that I took from the ficus and put in water has started to grow roots. I’ve written about it in my blog: http://bonsai3.net/pivot/entry.php?id=48
I’m looking for any advice that anyone can give me about how and when and what soil to plant this new cutting in.
