The seasons have gone topsy-turvy this year because of the strange weather we have been having. My azalea out the front think that it’s just turned spring and my oak bonsai out the back thinks it’s nearly autumn. My oak is closer to the truth but autumn is still supposed to officially be a good few weeks away.
The mornings have been noticeably colder than usual and they are getting darker. Flowers have stopped blooming and are starting to die off in certain areas. The grass is not growing as much as it was.
The oak’s leaves have been turning yellow on it in the past few days which I think has been brought on mainly by the cold mornings. The oak that i’ve got is in a shallower pot than the other bonsai I have so I think that has affected it as well. Bonsai feel the cold more through their pots. It has been said that when a tree is in a pot it is as if the tree were 100 miles further north.
